One of the treatments I offer is dermal fillers, but what exactly are dermal fillers? Dermal Fillers basically do what they say, they ‘fill’ the skin (or dermis)…the effect is to make the area appear fuller and more youthful.
I love the fact that the results are pretty much instant, although you may have to wait a couple of weeks to see the final result. It substance used for dermal fillers is very versatile and can be used to rejuvenate many different areas on the face and even the hands.
So why might you need dermal fillers?
As we age our skin starts to reduce the amount of elastin, college and hyaluronic acid it produces and therefore it becomes thinner and which causes fine lines and wrinkles to appear. Also, the fat pockets in our skin can clump together and move down the face – you may notice this, particularly in the cheek area.
From personal experience, this really knocked my confidence. When I entered the menopause I felt like my face was literally sliding off! Don’t get me started on the unwelcome appearance of jowls! And now my lips look like they have almost disappeared !!
So how do dermal fillers work and what are the benefits of dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are made up of hyaluronic acid, which is a substance the body naturally produces (as I mentioned above). The body will naturally absorb it and therefore dermal fillers are not a permanent solution. Hyaluronic acid attracts water under the skin which plumps and hydrates the area leaving the skin appearing fuller and looking younger. Dermal Fillers can be used in different areas on the face and body depending on the issue we are trying to resolve. Although it seems like a magic solution it is not entirely without risk and you should discuss these at the consultation before you agree to the procedure.
I have spent a lot of time looking for the ideal premium dermal filler product to ensure quality results that last. I use the brand Teoxane, it is a Swiss company who have won numerous awards for their aesthetic products. They have developed a hyaluronic acid that is cross-linked and this means that their dermal fillers work better for a more natural movement which gives a more natural appearance. You can check out Teoxane here {https://www.teoxane.com/en/teoxane} If you are considering an aesthetic treatment I would encourage you to research the products that are being used.
I take a lot of pride in what I do, I will never over-treat so that you look unnatural. I will say no to treatments if I feel it’s not in your best interest or will not give a good result. As a medical professional with 10 years of experience, safety is always paramount and I always ensure safe practice. I love what I do, but the thing I love most is giving you back your confidence – that feeling is priceless xx
